TRICK HOW TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF YOUR SATELITE DISH
TRICK HOW TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF YOUR SATELITE DISH
HOW TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF YOUR DISH
Assume the dish you want to enlarge is a 1.8m dish
the metal you will have to cut to add it will depend on size u want to enlarge to.
e.gfrom 1.8m to 3m
the size of metal to add interms of length= (3-1.8)/2 =1.2/2=0.6m (60cm)
so what u will add around the circumference of dish should be exactly 60cm of the desired metal
attach the metal to dish by any method (nails, nots and screws)
Now the arms of the dish will need to be recalculated
to do this.
measure the diameter( D )of your new dish with tape=
diameter=from one end to the otherof the edges of the dish
depth(d)=from centre of the dish upto halfway the diameter
focal length(f) where the lnb will be.
f=(DxD) ÷(16xd)
so if after expnading our 1.8m dish, the widened dish will have to assume a new lnbf position thats why we need to calculate the focal length.
so using the formular.
DXD/16xd
so lets assume you use your tape to measure the diameter of the dish(from one end of the new dish to the ither end) and u got 120inches (about 10ft dish/3m)
and u measures from the center of the dish to halfway of the diameter, being your depth to be about 18 inches.
your focal length(where the lnbf will be place as measured from the center of the dish)
(120x120)/(16x18)=
14400/288=50inches.
so f=50inches.
so measure from that center 50inches straight upwards to get the new position of lnb.
adjust your arms length to accomodate this new lnbf position
Okay.
if your rods run short.
just add
new focal length + 3inches to get length of rod
